The invention provides a starch-based degradable material as well as its preparation method and application. Specifically, the material includes: 20‑65 parts by weight of modified starch; 25‑75 parts by weight of PBAT; 1‑12 parts by weight of compatibilizer; 1‑5 parts by weight of reinforcing agent; and 0.5‑5 parts by weight of lubricant. The modified starch is prepared by the reaction of starch with terminal NCO polyurethane prepolymer. The material features low cost, complete biodegradability, excellent film-forming performance and simple preparation process, and is suitable for industrial mass production and application.
