Reactive ammonium carboxylate salts, polyamide amic acid oligomers and polyamideimide oligomers are synthesized from at least one aromatic diamine, at least one aromatic di‑, tri‑ or tetra-functional carboxylic acid or functional equivalents thereof, and at least one crosslinkable monomer or crosslinkable end-capping agent. The crosslinkable monomer or crosslinkable end-capping agent can react with aromatic diamines or polyfunctional aromatic carboxylic acids, and contains at least one unreacted functional group capable of chain extension and crosslinking after the formation of reactive polyamideimide oligomers. The number-average molecular weight (Mn) of reactive polyamide amic acid and polyamideimide oligomers is calculated to be approximately 1,000 to 10,000 g/mol via the Carothers equation. The above reactive ammonium carboxylate salts and oligomers can be applied to various functional materials, manufacturing processes and finished products.
