The invention discloses a creep-discoloration glass fiber reinforced polypropylene material and a preparation method thereof. The material is prepared from the following components by weight: 72.4–86.5 parts of polypropylene, 10–20 parts of modified glass fiber, 3–6 parts of compatibilizer, 0.3–0.8 parts of lubricant and 0.2–0.8 parts of antioxidant. The modified glass fiber is glass fiber grafted with a spiropyran photochromic compound. Under external force, the spiro C-O bond in the compound undergoes heterolysis to form a ring-opened merocyanine compound absorbing in the long-wave region, achieving a discoloration prompt effect. The invention obtains modified glass fiber by grafting a carboxyl-containing spiropyran compound with reactive groups onto hydroxyl-rich glass fiber surfaces. Adding such modified glass fiber into polypropylene to reinforce the material achieves a force-induced discoloration effect.
